What is Paediatric Eye Treatment?
Paediatric eye care deals with diagnosing and treating eye conditions in infants, children, and teenagers. Early detection is critical, as children's vision develops rapidly and untreated issues can affect learning, development, and quality of life.
Treatment Options
- Glasses or Contact Lenses – For refractive errors or certain focusing issues
- Patching (for Amblyopia) – Covering the stronger eye to stimulate the weaker eye
Eye Drops
- Atropine drops (used in place of patching)
- Antibiotic or anti-allergy drops
Surgery
- For congenital cataracts, strabismus (squint), ptosis, blocked tear ducts
- Often done under general anesthesia
